Chapter Seven

ELLIE

“Alexander King, go get in the shower and leave me alone.” Ellie laughed as she pushed on his shoulder, trying to find the strength to pull away from him.

“Mm, no thanks. I think I’m having more fun in here with you.” He managed to separate his lips from her skin long enough to flash a grin in her direction.

She shook her head, pressing her fingertips to his lips when he started to go back to kissing her neck. He smirked and licked her finger, and she pouted. “We have ten days here. We’ve spent nearly twenty-four hours naked or in the bedroom. I would love it if we could at least spend a small portion of the day outside the room.”

“Fine.” He sighed, falling back onto the mattress next to her before rolling out of the bed. She was very aware of the fact that he was trying to make a point by walking into the bathroom completely naked. They had spent all morning in bed, as had become normal, but she’d been in the process of getting out of bed for the last hour.

She finally rolled out and cracked open the suitcase that Phoebe had packed for her. It was the first time she had really gone through its contents. The deeper she dug, the skimpier the clothing got. She huffed out a breath and found a swimsuit and cover-up, pulling them on quickly.

Once she heard the shower start running, she had to resist the urge to join him. If she did, they would never leave the bedroom. It had become glaringly obvious that if they were left alone without any responsibilities, they also lost control over their sex drives.

At one point, having such a loss of control would have horrified her, but Ellie welcomed every moment, every connection with Alex. Though, that didn’t mean she could follow every whim, despite how amazing the outcome.

ALEX

When Alex walked back into the bedroom, he saw no sign of Ellie. He quickly pulled on clothing and went to find her. There was no sign of her in any of the main living spaces of the bungalow. He was starting to wonder if she had left without him until he saw movement out of the corner of his eye.

He walked through the sliding door that led out to the back of the bungalow. Stopping in the doorway, he leaned against the doorjamb and watched her. She really was incredibly beautiful. She was wearing a light purple dress that fluttered lazily around her thighs as the wind blew past her. The small gusts of wind picked up tendrils of her dark hair too, pulling them over her shoulders.

“It’s so quiet here,” she murmured, wrapping her arms around her chest and staring out at the water.

“I know. It’s nice being by the water without all the sounds of the city.” He nodded. “Beautiful view too.”

She smiled and turned to face him. “I’m going to go ahead and believe you were talking about the water and the island.
